Join Our Team as a Residential Porter/Caretaker!
Are you passionate about delivering outstanding customer service? Do you enjoy making a difference in people's day-to-day lives? We're looking for a proactive, customer-focused Porter/Caretaker to join our dynamic team in Cambridge.

- Location: Cambridge, CB3
- Annual Salary: £30,000
- Hours/Working Pattern: 4 on 4 off, 7am-7pm
Please note, we are expecting this role to be available from early November, however this is subject to change dependent on completion of the site.
This role is very much a hands on role with a 50:50 split of cleaning/general caretaking duties and front of house responsibilities.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Cleanliness of Communal areas: Vacuum & mop floors, Dust and polish wooden elements, Clean windows, Cleaning light fittings and replacing bulbs as required, Litter picking, Sweeping pathways, Gardening (Weeding, pruning, hedge trimming).
- Problem-Solving: Address issues promptly, from maintenance to emergencies, and escalate concerns to the building manager as needed.
- Security: Conduct regular site walk-arounds, check IDs, and monitor CCTV to maintain building safety.
- Welcome and Assist: Greet residents and visitors warmly, making them feel at home. Handle queries and assist with maintenance requests.
- Safety Checks: Looking out for H&S hazards on site patrol, Assist with fire alarm, emergency lighting, and smoke vent testing.
- Local Knowledge: Offer advice and recommendations about the local area to enhance residents’ experience
What You'll Bring:
- Experience with cleaning, caretaking or basic maintenance is highly advantageous.
- Experience in Front of House is a plus, but a strong customer service or security background is equally valued.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Health & safety qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
- A positive, can-do attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to handle responsibilities with care.
