The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Health, Safety, and Fire Advisor Apprentice. Initially, you’ll work closely with our Health & Safety Coordinator to master the fundamentals of the role, ensuring our business meets all safety and compliance requirements. Over two years, we’ll support you in completing both the NEBOSH General Certificate and the NEBOSH Fire Certificate, helping you to grow into a fully qualified advisor conducting site visits and leading key initiatives.
What You’ll Do
As a vital member of the team, you’ll:
- Review risk assessments, method statements, and COSHH documents.
- Support the Health & Safety Manager in aligning our practices with ISO 45001 standards.
- Monitor risk data, investigate incidents, and escalate issues where needed.
- Be the first point of contact for H&S queries via the department inbox.
- Oversee fire safety in our offices, including system monitoring and evacuation drills.
- Conduct audits and assist with contractor approval processes.
- Deliver H&S inductions and ensure staff training requirements are met.
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications:
- A full UK driving licence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A university degree (desirable, but not essential).
- Fire Marshall or First Aid training (advantageous but not required).
Experience:
- Previous exposure to Qube Property Management software is beneficial (training provided).
- Strong research, problem-solving, and report-writing abilities.
- A good understanding of health and safety regulations.
